Chicago's busy Blue Island crossing sees trains from CSX, UP, BNSF, CP, CN, IHB and Iowa Interstate, with Metra crossing overhead in the background. The last manually operated crossing tower in the USA was in operation during our visit, but was recently (June 2013) closed and demolished.
